Position Summary
Adams County Regional Water District is seeking a reliable and motivated Water Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and repair of the municipal water system to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality drinking water while maintaining compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor water treatment and distribution systems.
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pumps, valves, hydrants, meters, and related equipment.
- Collect water samples and perform required testing and documentation.
- Read and record system meters, gauges, and operational data.
- Maintaining the grounds of the Water Treatment Plant and Well Fields.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, maintenance records, and regulatory reports.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and environmental regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to obtain required certifications if not currently held.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ohio Water Supply Class II or III Operator License preferred.
- Previous experience in municipal water treatment or water distribution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of water treatment and distribution operations.
- Understanding of applicable EPA and Ohio EPA regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and recordkeeping skills.
